11/10: Hands

Photo by Bobby Moon; used with permission.

Here’s a photo of a study of a fisherman’s hands that California photographer Bobby Moon took during his eight-day trip across the Gulf coast in October.

This photo shows the hands of “Mike,” a commercial fisherman who urged Bobby and writer Frank Barnwell to avoid eating the seafood from the area around Venice, La.

“From Mike we heard some of the other conspiracy theories we had heard from others during the trip, and we heard how let down by the government, even by the President himself, he felt. It was all broken promises, according to Mike. He is one who believes that the initial explosion was deliberate, all part of a grand scheme to draw attention to deep water drilling. Even one of the hurricanes that was supposed to be a threat this past summer (whose name he couldn’t remember)… well, that all part of the conspiracy too.”
