At a June 28 TED conference in Washington, presenters developed a number of ideas related to the oil disaster. The Atlantic offers a look at five big lessons from the conference.
Here are the ideas offered by Atlantic editor Nicole Allen (click here to see her full post)
1. Invest in our oceans.
2. Don’t let BP hold all the cards.
3. Make the EPA more like the FDA.
4. Print warnings at the end of gas receipts, like on cigarette packs.
5. Replace offshore oil rigs with offshore wind farms.
